At John Carroll Leisure Centre, Denman Street Central, Nottingham NG7 3PS. An alternative location might be found during bad weather in winter.
This is temporarily postponed. We hope to host a holiday club for four weeks over the summer, but this will depend on how much we're allowed to get out and meet up.
Please see our social media sites for other ways we can support you at the moment.
Breaking Barriers Building Bridges has two teams who usually take to the streets from 3pm until 7pm on weekdays and 12pm until 6pm on Saturdays. We chat to young people in Nottingham city centre and disperse any groups that may be causing trouble for pedestrians by finding them alternative places to go.
During the Covid-19 restrictions we have been given permission to carry on supporting young people on the streets by educating them on the current government guidelines, disbursing groups and supporting people's physical and emotional well-being.
We can offer one-to-one support to help young people achieve their goals, gain confidence and tackle any other issues they might be facing. We try to build a holistic package of support, tailored to everyone’s emotional, physical and spiritual needs.
At present this is being done remotely by phone and social media.
Our fully trained team of mentors also hold regular planned sessions with young people, working with Youth Offending Teams and the Probation Service, to help them make positive life choices.
We run regular open access activities throughout the year. Any local young person can come along to these sessions. We also encourage all the young people who receive 1:1 support to join too. We reach approximately 250 (and counting) young people via our open access sessions.
You can contact us for more information on our services, or just turn up at one of the sessions.
